About Us
Crawfish Aquatics is a member of USA Swimming and offers year round competitive swimming for ages four years and older. As a member of this national organization all of our members are insured and our daily practices are monitored and supervised by USA Swimming Certified coaches. Our training is divided into small groups with a professional staff member assigned to each group. We offer several different groups that are organized by age, ability and physical maturity. Our swimmers compete on a regular schedule approved by Louisiana Swimming Inc. Our team hosts several home competitions and will travel locally, regionally and nationally to provide appropriate competition for all of our members.

The mission of Crawfish Aquatics is to offer a quality swim program unified by integrity, overall development and fulfillment of potential.
Our goal is to provide Lafayette and the surrounding area competitive and recreational swimming for children and adults of all ages. Through our diverse programs, Crawfish Aquatics seeks to provide a healthy, positive, fun, enriching atmosphere for its membership to compete, train or participate at any level. To fulfill our mission, we seek to staff the most qualified coaches and personnel available, to teach and educate our membership on the benefits and attributes that are learned through swimming. Crawfish Aquatics is the only Swim Team in Lafayette that owns and operates its own swimming facility. This gives Crawfish Aquatics flexible practice times, and a clean, safe facility to call home.
Every New Swimmer at Crawfish Aquatics is evaluated by one of our coaches on their first day to decide which group will benefit them the most. New swimmers are also placed into designated groups based on age and/or ability. Below are brief descriptions of each program that we offer.
Swimming Lessons Get More Info!
Crawfish Aquatics offers a Learn to Swim program ALL YEAR LONG for children ages 2-13. Children in the community are offered 2-week classes of group lessons taught by the Crawfish Aquatic Coaching Staff, senior team members and college students. The swim lesson program is structured with an 8-stage progression of skills from beginning skills to advanced swimming skills. Children attaining Level 5 or higher are encouraged to progress to Crawfish Swim School offered year round. Classes for 2 year-olds are only offered in the morning classes.

The Crawfish Aquatics Swim School program offers children ages 4-12 an introduction to swim team and serves as a transition group from Swimming Lessons. Children in the Swim School group can meet up to 4 times per week, and groups are limited for a low swimmer to coach ratio.

Crawfish Aquatics offers a USA swimming program year-round for children interested in competitive swimming instruction and swimming meet opportunities. The competitive swimming program is structured to develop young athletes from beginners to elite athletes using the Mutli-Year Comprehensive Training Development philosophy. Swimmers compete in local meets around the state of Louisiana, in Regional meets in the Southeast and Texas and in National Meets across the United States. The Competitive Team has been in the top three in Louisiana for the past 8 years, winning eleven state titles 2005-2011 and currently ranks as one of the best in the United States.

Crawfish Aquatics offers Adults in the Lafayette area fitness and recreational swimming opportunities through our Masters swimming program. Area Triathletes also take advantage of the structured practices. The Masters swimming times are supervised and coached by an on-deck coach and a practice is offered with modifications for beginners, intermediate level and advanced swimmers.

Crawfish Aquatics offers private swimming lessons for those who want individual instruction. We offer this option to people of all ages and ability. These lessons are a great way for babies or children to become water safe. We also cater to triathletes who are looking to improve their stroke technique. High School Swim Squad Get More Info!
The High School Swim Squad is a program offered for Lafayette area High School students wishing to continue physical fitness through swimming, improve their stroke technique performance, develop swimming speed and refine skills associated with swimming competition such as starts, turns and streamlines. This group is offered during the off-season of the High School swimming season, each spring & summer.
